AUDITION ALERT: Only a year after its debut in New York, Goochland Community Theatre is bringing this hilarious new show to Goochland! It’s a Rocky Horror for a new generation! We are in the thick of Addams Family rehearsals but the fabulous production team bringing you “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors” is already hard at work and auditions are right around the corner. WHEN: Friday September 13th 6:30PM-9PM Saturday September 14th 6:30PM - 9PM WHERE: Eagle Theater at Central High 2748 Dogtown Rd, Goochland VA 23063 Casting is flexible, and though the show calls for 5 actors, more may be cast at the director’s discretion. Rehearsals will begin weekly in October and run for roughly 8 weeks prior to the show opening. ABOUT THE SHOW: Ever wondered what would happen if you took Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale and put it into a blender with Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and The 39 Steps? That’s just what happens in this lightning-fast, laugh-out-loud, 90-minute, gender-bending romp. When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed female vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous and sexy Count Dracula abounds with clever wordplay and quick-change antics. Five actors play over a dozen roles in this bloodcurdlingly hilarious send-up of the literary classic.
