About Us

The Heart of Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America, has been serving young people and their families since 1913. Our local Scouting programs serve thousands of young people across Central Virginia by using fun and educational activities which emphasize outdoor experiences and community service. We prepare youth for their future by teaching timeless values like leadership, citizenship, character, and personal fitness. Scouting is an opportunity for boys and girls to achieve their best in a hands-on learning environment that inspires them to grow physically and mentally, gain confidence, and lead by example.
